Ceramic Fuel Cells CFU who develop high efficiency and low emission electricity generation units for buildings, have announced that a BlueGen gas-to-electricity generation unit has been installed and is now operational at Adelaide's Central Market.

The BlueGen unit enables city shoppers to recharge electric vehicles from low emission sources rather than carbon intensive power from the electricity grid.

The AIM-listed company indicated that Adelaide City Council and the South Australian Government have installed the BlueGen unit together with an electric vehicle charging station, located in the Central Market carpark, free for users and capable of charging two vehicles at a time.

Ceramic Fuel Cells Managing Director Brendan Dow added "We are excited to have a BlueGen unit at Adelaide Central Market and we are thrilled that the Capital City Committee has recognised BlueGen's potential to power electric cars. BlueGen is an ideal companion technology to electric vehicles."
