In January Marks and Spencer and ITM Power signed a pilot agreement to undertake the UK’s first fuel cell materials handling trial with on-site hydrogen production. The trial was to last for six weeks and would see several fuel cell vehicles and forklifts deployed at M&S’s 1.1 million sq. ft. Prologis Park Distribution Centre in Bradford with hydrogen generated on-site via the ITM HFuel electrolyser system.
The trial has now concluded successfully, with Marks and Spencer staff impressed at the reliability and long operating time offered by the fuel cell forklifts. ITM Power has released a video case study on the trial detailing its successes.
