Governor discusses CT fuel cell expansion
As part of his jobs tour, Gov. Dannel Malloy on Wednesday morning discussed the future growth of the hydrogen and fuel cell industries in Connecticut.
Connecticut is one of the leaders of the fuel cell industry in the...
country, including eight original equipment manufacturers making various components of the industry. Those companies include UTC Power in South Windsor, FuelCell Energy in Danbury and Proton OnSite in Wallingford.
Malloy met with the Connecticut Hydrogen Fuel Cell Coalition in East Hartford on Wednesday to talk with representatives from the fuel cell and hydrogen industry, labor, academia, government and other stakeholders, including the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology. Joining Malloy were Dan Esty, commissioner of the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, and Catherine Smith, commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development.
On Wednesday afternoon, Malloy, Esty and Smith were scheduled to meet with the executives of Proton Onsite in Wallingford. The company specializes in hydrogen energy and gas solutions; and its facility is home to hydrogen refueling station for fuel cell vehicles.
