Bing Energy International is pitching its leading-edge fuel cell technology at the Florida Venture Capital Conference that started Tuesday and concludes today.
Tallahassee-based Bing was the only company from Northwest Florida to be invited to the 21st annual conference, and is one of 19 presenters on the schedule.
"We are honored that the Florida Venture Forum has chosen to spotlight BEI as a clean energy company to watch," said Richard Hennek, Bing's cofounder and vice president of business development, in a statement.
"We see this as a great opportunity to educate investors about our company and the potential of our breakthrough technology to create a more commercially viable fuel cell," he said.
The Venture Capital Conference is being held at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. Bing said it was selected by a panel of leading venture capitalists as one of the best prospects for venture capital funding in Florida.
The company recently announced that it is on track to meet its job creation goals under the Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund program.
To qualify for QTI incentives, Bing must create at least 244 jobs paying an average salary of $41,633 over the next seven years. In its first year of operation, the company has hired 16 employees at an average salary of $41,661.
Bing was approved for the QTI tax refund program last year, which includes a 20-percent match that is split equally between Leon County and the city of Tallahassee.
