Scribner Associates, Inc. announces a new cost-effective, high-performance instrument specifically engineered for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) testing.

The 855 SOFC Test System is a fully-integrated, turn-key instrument that includes a multi-range load for accurate measurement over a broad current range and true zero-volt capability for full performance characterization of cells with high-resistance current leads.

The 855 has a built-in anode gas humidifier and a by-pass valve for dry gas operation. In addition to the main anode and cathode gas mass flow controllers, the 855 is equipped with an additional mass flow controller for in-situ anode forming or reformate simulation.

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and continuous High Frequency Resistance (HFR) measurement are available for quantification of ohmic, kinetic and mass transport effects.

All functions of the 855 and SOFC operation are controlled through FuelCell®, the industry’s leading fuel cell testing software. FuelCell has been designed for safe, easy start-up/shut-down and SOFC testing featuring temperature ramping, multiple alarm actions and automated gas mixing for anode forming and reformate simulation.
